bones in a decades old case of a missing child in san francisco. we broke that story yesterday. kevin collins disappeared in february of 1984 and last seen at a bus stop in the haight-ashbury. amy joins us from the home that was searched by cadaver dogs. >> people say it has been painful to relive the memories of kevin and his disappearance. investigators stirred up old emotions yesterday morning when they arrived in the neighborhood and searched a home here at masonic and page in haight-ashbury looking for evidence in the disappearance of kevin collins. he was ten when he vanished. police found bones under the concrete floor but they believe they are animal bones. this is drawing out hope and disappointment again for the family including the mother and collins, and those in the neighbor. >> shaky. i was scared. shaking. i could not sleep think about it, what the situation was. i did get some sleep but i was worried about anne, that is who i am worried about. she is the one, really, that is having a problem right now. >> police were here at home all day yesterday and into the night. i

hit a bay bridge tower in san francisco bay two days ago. abc7 news talk with the ntsb what is involved in any investigation and joins us from treasure island. >> let me say this is not csi treasure island. the investigation will take more than an hour or a week or a year as they try to figure why that ship off of treasure island, the 750' oil tanker "overseas raymar" did what it did on monday. where will they repair the ship? there is a 20-member crew on board and a group was going to board the "overseas raymar" and is not with the ntsb but says they are with the marshal island registries where the tanker is from. the coast guard and investigators will work together to figure why it sideswiped the bay bridge tower west of yerba buena island on monday. the bar pilot was warned he was off coast and it is unclear whether fog played a role. i spoke with a ntsb in washington, dc, this morning. >> at this stage they are fact gathering and we cannot determine a cause early on in an investigation. it usually takes some time, maybe 12 to 18 months before we determine the cause but w

his girlfriend on fire in san francisco. police want to find 22-year-old dexter oliver after a young woman was found with severe burns. amy hollyfield joins from the burn center. how is she doing? >> i spoke with two sisters. the family hasn't been in to see her yet this morning but are waiting for more relatives to arrive from sacramento and trying to brace themselves for an afternoon visit here at the hospital. they have been told she can expect to be in the hospital for four to five months. >> we kept talking about it all night. it was hard to go to sleep. >> this has been so tough to deal with she hasn't even been able to bring herself to visit her sister, starr lamare. she was set on fire yesterday and is in the hospital with burns do her face. witnesses, relatives and police believe her boyfriend, dexter oliver, is to blame. this morning, her family was shocked when oliver's grandmother called her mother. >> my mother thought she trusted him and let him survey in -- sty in the house and fed him, why would he do something like that to her baby. she tried to, the grandmother, she
